VISION of a Church:

Venue Church exists so that those who were scattered will be found

in Christ.

 

VISION Embodied: 

      we aggressively go after those who have been scattered

      we intentionally target those who have been running, hiding, & vacating

      we energetically embrace the popular & the outcast

      we authentically & passionately love God & people

      we fervently desire & pursue Christlikeness in our private & public lives

      we recklessly serve our community

      we perpetually pray for God to heal our city

      we labor so that the Lamb Who was slain may receive the full reward of His suffering

“‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness." Ezekiel 34:11-12

VISION Moving: 

We believe that vision without action is mere compositional rhetoric. To carry out the vision that God has given us, we must not simply declare the vision but also actively demonstrate the vision. Therefore we are to outwardly participate in the vision in a personal way, as well as at a community level. Although there are many ways which this can be done, we believe that we are to stick to what the Early Church was committed to (Acts 2:42):

 

  • The Apostles Doctrine (teaching): the Gospel of Jesus Christ

    • ​Confession. Repentance. Forgiveness. Remission. Reconciliation. Regeneration. Salvation. In and thru Christ Alone!

  • Fellowship: ​koinonia (gk) - Sharing. Unity. Close Association. Participation. Community. 

  • Breaking Bread: the Lord's Supper (communion). 

  • Prayer: constant conversation with God

    • ​Asking: audible utterance of needs. Wants. Desires. Hurts. Pains. Happenings.

    • Listening: silent surrendering of all to His will.
